Working With Myers & Cooper

Advice is tested in the conversation.

Myers & Cooper explains the reasoning behind a recommendation and the alternatives available to you, so you can question the assessment before deciding how to proceed.

Starting an Engagement

Establish how we will work together.

An initial discussion identifies what has prompted your inquiry and whether there is a deadline to work towards. Myers & Cooper considers whether the assignment fits the office’s capabilities and identifies any specialist input it may require.

Terms of Engagement
The proposed engagement sets out the work to be delivered and the responsibilities assigned to Myers & Cooper. We explain the basis on which fees would be calculated before you accept the terms, including any separately charged work.
Preparing To Begin
We agree which records are needed and how they will be provided. You confirm who can give instructions and which people should be included in communications. Where another provider holds a required document, we agree whether you will supply it or authorize us to request it.

Staying in Contact

A schedule that reflects the assignment.

Myers & Cooper agrees a contact schedule suited to the engagement. A portfolio mandate may call for recurring discussions, while the assessment of a particular opportunity may be organized around its decision dates.

Scheduled Discussions

We identify the matters requiring your attention and the decisions to be addressed at the next meeting. Supporting material is shared in advance where it is needed to prepare for a decision. Before the discussion ends, we confirm the actions agreed and who will take them forward.

Developments Between Meetings

Where ongoing monitoring forms part of the mandate, we agree which developments call for contact between scheduled discussions. An issue requiring your resolution is brought to you with its implications and any deadline for a response. We agree how receipt of a time-sensitive instruction will be acknowledged, so you know it has reached the person handling the matter.

When Your Plans Change

Keep your advisor in the conversation.

A planned purchase or revised funding date may affect instructions already given. Tell your advisor as those plans develop so we can assess whether the work or its timing needs to change.

If a request falls outside the existing engagement, Myers & Cooper discusses the additional work and its terms with you. Any extension is agreed before that work begins, including its effect on work already in progress.
